Not much to report since the last Bulletin, all the action was in October, so November was quite mellow in comparison. However earlier in the month the CCWGA Champion of Champions Day for all Club Champions was played at Shelly Beach, and happily Pat Myles won the 18 hole gross in Division 2, and, the Division 2 Golf Medal, – a fabulous achievement.
Helen Ferguson celebrated her 80th birthday this month and was presented with flowers and a card from Women’s Golf, plus chocolates and an 80th hat clip from the VWGA – and she still plays a mean game of golf!
The prospect of winning a ham was the drawcard for 81 players to compete in (the) aptly named Ham Day later in the month. Our new sponsor for the day was, (again aptly named) Sarah O’Hair Hairdresser’s. John came along to present the prizes, and as an added bonus was able to recount early memories of Everglades, as his mother was a member in the very early days of
Judy Shanks was the Division1 winner, Jenny Murray topped her Division 2, with Margie Coutts towering above the pack in Division 3.
At time of writing we have yet to have Closing Day & Xmas Presentation, so plenty of photos for next month.
Summer golf is here, so stay cool (and hydrated) out on those fairways.
